Overview
The Rookie Path is XileRO's guided onboarding for brand-new players. It starts the moment you wash ashore and walks you through the server's core systems — and every step upgrades your gear. You begin with Rookie Gear Tier I and work your way up to Tier V, learning a new system at each stage.
Everything you earn on the Rookie Path is account-bound — it can't be traded, sold, mailed, or vended — so it's purely yours to level with and never affects the economy.
🏝️ Step 1 — Captain Carocc (the starter island)
When you first arrive you'll meet Captain Carocc on the castaway island
(int_land). Finish his training — hunt 5 Poring, 5 Lunatic and 3 Fabre
(tracked in your Quest window, ALT+U) — and report back for your Rookie
Welcome Kit:
- Rookie Gear Tier I — the full 4-piece set (Suit, Manteau, Shoes, Charm)
- Dragon Wings + Sunglasses (cosmetic)
- 30× Novice Potion
- Castaway's Resolve — a one-time head-start buff: Blessing, Increase AGI (60 min) and +50% Base EXP (30 min)
No starting zeny, Fly Wings or Battle Manual item — the head-start buff replaces
them, and @warp / @jump make Fly Wings unnecessary on a mid-rate.
🧭 Step 2 — The Rookie Mentor (the Hub)
Head to the newbie Hub (moc_para01, reachable with @newb) and find the
Rookie Mentor — right beside the Weekly Bounty Board. The Mentor runs the
rest of your training, tracked
in your Quest window (ALT+U) with on-screen navigation arrows to each goal.
Each time you complete a stage, the Mentor takes your old gear set and upgrades
you to the next tier:

Graduating (Tier V) unlocks the wearable [Grad] title — set it from your
title menu in the Achievement window (ALT+U).
🛡️ The Rookie Gear set
A full 4-piece set, usable by every class from Level 1 and account-bound. The bonuses scale each tier but stay intentionally modest — it's a leg-up while you climb, and you'll outgrow it as you reach real gear.

Set bonus (wear all four pieces of the same tier): from +5% MaxHP, +1 All Stats, +5 Hit, +5 Flee at Tier I, scaling to +10% MaxHP, +3 All Stats, +10 Hit, +10 Flee at Tier V.
💪 Trait stats — your Tier IV step
Your Tier IV step teaches XileRO's trait stats — POW, STA, WIS, SPL, CON, CRT — a renewal-era layer added to every job. You earn trait points just by logging in each day, and spend them in your Stats window (Alt+A). Spend one trait point, then return to the Rookie Mentor to claim Tier IV. See Trait Stats.
