Overview
For an account's first 7 days, its player is a rookie. A party with a rookie and a veteran fighting side by side is a Rookie Fellowship: everyone in it gets +20% EXP from monsters, and the veteran earns Mentor points toward the [Guru] title and a costume.
How It Works
Who gets the bonus
You get +20% monster EXP while, within about one screen of you on your map (14 cells), your party has:
| Needs | Why |
|---|---|
| A rookie (an account under 7 days old) | The fellowship is for new players |
| A veteran (any older account) | Someone to show them the ropes |
| The two on different computers | Your own second account doesn't count |
| Both playing by hand: not on Auto Attack, not idle for 2 minutes | It rewards playing together |
You can be the rookie or the veteran yourself; everyone in range of such a pair gets the bonus. It adds to your other EXP boosts (Battle Manuals, the Golden Hour). Quest and NPC EXP don't get it.
When a rookie logs in, a green line in the chat box says how long their rookie days last.
Mentor points
Every time a rookie gains a base level in a fellowship, each veteran fighting beside them (on another computer) earns 1 Mentor point. One rookie account can give 10 points in all, so help several new players to reach the costume.
| Mentor points | Reward |
|---|---|
| 10 | The Mentor achievement and the [Guru] title |
| 30 | [C] Wizard Master[C] Wizard Master (19690) A costume worn by those who help new players find their feet. Reward for 30 Mentor points. Type: Costume (Lower) Weight: 1, once per character |
The costume needs a free bag slot; with a full bag it waits and arrives at your next login.
Tips
- New here? Ask in the main chat for a party: a veteran beside you means +20% EXP for both of you.
- Veterans: a short session with a new player moves them along fast and counts toward [Guru].
- Keep playing: Auto Attack and standing idle end the bonus until you're back at the keys.
