Overview
Nine fishing grounds across the realm are rippling with fish. Catch them, trade them to the Fishy Man for Blue Whales, and spend the whales on costumes and buffs.
Find the Fishy Man and his Fishy Donkey at @mall (ra_temsky 91, 85),
just west of where you arrive.
Getting started
- Make a rod. Bring the Fishy Man 1× Iron, 1× Barren Trunk and 1× Cobweb to get a Small Fishing Rod (2764). It is never used up; just keep it in your inventory.
- Ride the donkey. The Fishy Donkey takes you to any fishing ground for free, and shows how long each one is still on cooldown for you.
- Click a Constant Ripple. These are the glowing blue markers by the water. Pick a bait (or none), then stand still while you cast. Walking away cancels the cast and keeps your bait.
Reeling it in
Every cast has three pulls. Read the line and answer:
| The line says… | Choose |
|---|---|
| The fish is pulling the line tightly | Pull the line |
| The fish is trying to escape | Hold firmly |
| The fish is getting closer and closer | Let the fish run with the line |
- Every correct pull adds +5% to your chance of a rare fish (a perfect reel is +15%).
- Get all three wrong and the fish escapes. A miss has no cooldown, but the bait is used up.
- If you don't land a rare fish, you still reel in something small (Fresh Fish, Shrimp or Clam Flesh), which makes decent bait.
- Landing anything puts that fishing ground on a 30 minute cooldown for you. The other grounds stay open, so keep moving.
