v1.6.0 is live, and it is the MVP refresh: every MVP now has a tier, a real fight and a token of its own, Boss Hour becomes a World Boss rotation, and @mvp shows you all of it from anywhere. Around that we rebuilt the Unholy Path for teams of 255s, brewed Syri's Elixors from scratch, paved a smoother road for new players and gave several classes the damage they were always meant to have. Every change since the last release is below, grouped so you can find your favourites. (Fair warning: the bosses hit back now. No more pwning Eddga in three Asuras.)
The client patch is part of this update: it carries the art for all 50 MVP tokens, the World Boss loot, Syri's Essences and the new demon gear, new card illustrations, the new costumes and titles, and the updated item and skill tooltips. Run the patcher before you log in, or the new items will show blank.
Good to know first
- MVPs drop half as much from their own lists. An MVP's own drops and its MVP prizes now roll at 5x instead of 10x (a prize at 20% or more still always drops). Cards stay a flat 1%, and mini-bosses and ordinary monsters keep 10x. What MVPs pay now comes as tokens instead (see below).
- Everyone walks faster. The base walk is 150 ms a cell (was 170), and every speed source has its own step. The rental mount comes down from +25% to +10%. Full numbers are under Balance changes.
- How to wear a new title. Many rewards in this update are titles. A title shows up only after you claim its achievement reward in the Achievements window (the trophy button in the top-left menu). Then wear it from the Equipment window (ALT+Q), Title tab.
- Daily Login, November edition: three new exclusive costumes and more Daily Login Cards, from October 30 to November 30 (server time). Everyone starts again at day 1; your saved cards still work.
- Wanted MVPs every Friday: the three least-hunted MVPs of the week pay double ladder points and 2 tokens per credit.
New content
The MVP refresh: four tiers and real fights
Every MVP now sits in a tier, and each tier is built for a group size: Tier I for a geared solo player, Tier II for a duo, Tier III for a party of 3-5, Tier IV for 5 or more. Each boss fights in its own style, with emotes, a lore line at 10% HP and an aura that changes with each phase.
- Tier I (solo): 8M HP, no hit over 18,000, a cast bar on its big hits, adds at half HP, Pneuma when shot from range. Orc Hero, Mistress, Gopinich, Moonlight Flower, Phreeoni, Hati (Garm), Eddga, Osiris, Stormy Knight, Turtle General, Orc Lord and Pharaoh. Orc Lord is a real MVP again.
- Tier II (duo): 16M HP, no hit over 26,000, three waves of adds. Golden Thief Bug, Maya, Amon Ra, Evil Snake Lord, Samurai Specter, Baphomet, Dark Lord, Doppelganger, Egnigem Cenia, Drake, Tao Gunka, White Lady and the returning Kublin. Golden Thief Bug no longer casts Mammonite.
- Tier III (party of 3-5): 30M HP, no hit over 50,000, three waves of adds. Dracula, Lord of Death, RSX-0806, Lady Tanee, Atroce, Kiel D-01, Vesper, Detardeurus, Fallen Bishop, Abyss Arthur and the returning Boitata.
- Tier IV (raid of 5+): 60M HP (was 5-13M), no hit over 60,000, three waves of adds, plus Pneuma, Land Protector and Dispel against kiting and big AoE. Valkyrie Randgris, Gloom Under Night, Ktullanux, Ifrit, Beelzebub and the returning Nidhoggur's Shadow.
- Rules every boss follows: bosses never stun, freeze, petrify, sleep or silence you, and no boss can one-shot an 82,000 HP character. From Tier II up, a boss speeds up and calls adds at HP thresholds; from Tier III up, it answers Storm Gust, Lord of Vermilion and Meteor Storm with Land Protector and splits its Earthquake between everyone it hits.
- MVP EXP by tier: 5M (Tier I), 15M (II), 40M (III), 100M (IV), and base EXP is about 2% of the boss's HP (x150). Kiel D-01's MVP EXP drops from 1.18B to 40M; Eddga's rises from 1,000 to 5M.
- Faster respawns: Ktullanux, Beelzebub, Ifrit, Randgris and Gloom Under Night every 4-6 h (were up to 48 h); Atroce (all five spots) and Tao Gunka every 3-4 h; Doppelganger in the guild dungeon every 2-3 h (was 8-10 h). Gloom Under Night now has one spawn, in Rachel Sanctuary 5 (it had two).
How each boss fights:
- Tier I: Eddga quickens below 60% and drains blood below 30%. Moonlight Flower blinks onto archers, cloaks for 3 s and calls Nine Tail decoys at 70% and 40%. Phreeoni gorges for 8% of his HP unless you hit him during the 3 s cast. Mistress knocks you back with Jupitel Thunder and casts Assumptio below 40% (DEF 45 to 30, MDEF 40 to 55). Orc Hero fights behind a warband that refills every 30 s and quickens once it is dead. Orc Lord's war drum calls two High Orcs each minute, and he quickens after 3 minutes. Pharaoh curses, slows casting and drains SP (attack delay 250 to 400 ms). Osiris lays Evil Land and rises again as Osiris, Unwrapped at 15%. Gopinich charges archers (attack delay 1,536 to 1,000 ms). Stormy Knight's Quagmire ends speed buffs. Hati leaps onto archers and shells against arrows below 60% (HIT 432 to 492). Turtle General reflects melee, shells up for 3 s and holds Keeping below 30% (DEF 45 to 65, MDEF 40 to 25).
- Tier II: Golden Thief Bug swaps a magic mirror and an arrow shell by HP quarter. Maya's brood refills while it is broken. Drake strips a melee attacker's weapon and anyone's shield (Full Chemical Protection stops it). Baphomet cleaves his front and speeds up below 30%. Doppelganger guards and reflects in a duel and Provokes a second attacker (HIT 442 to 522). Dark Lord casts a 2 s Grand Darkness and Slow Cast (DEF 60 to 75, MDEF 50 to 35). Evil Snake Lord calls illusions wearing his face at 75% and 40%. Samurai Specter marks you with Lex Aeterna, then draws (HIT 442 to 522). Amon Ra sinks the sand and lays Fire Pillars. Tao Gunka never flinches, wounds your healing and quickens below 30% (DEF 60 to 75, MDEF 50 to 35). White Lady heals 5% unless interrupted and raises Assumptio and Sanctuary. Egnigem Cenia speeds up each minute and quickens after 2 minutes. Kublin splits off Lieutenants at 66% and Bowmen at 33%.
- Tier III: Dracula drains blood, wounds your healing and runs to feed below 15%. Lord of Death's legion refills while it is broken, and his Evil Land heals it. Kiel D-01 speeds up each minute and becomes Kiel D-01 Overclocked at 30%. Vesper warps onto archers and shells against arrows (HIT 452 to 512). RSX-0806 Auto Guards and shells up for 3 s below 80% (DEF 70 to 90, MDEF 70 to 50). Lady Tanee shells you from 9 cells. Detardeurus breathes fire, then dark, and rages below 30%. Atroce pounces and bleeds you (HIT 452 to 532). Fallen Bishop curses, slows casting and mirrors magic below 50%. Abyss Arthur guards, reflects and punishes a crowd (HIT 452 to 532). Boitata leaves Fire Walls and Fire Pillars.
- Tier IV: Valkyrie Randgris Dispels every 30 s and strikes a Lex-marked verdict below 30%. Gloom Under Night winds up telegraphed slams and now swings every 1.34 s (was 2.88 s): each hit is unchanged, but his melee rises from about 6,800 to 14,500 damage a second. Ktullanux leaps onto archers and shells against arrows. Ifrit fills the arena with Fire Pillars and, below 50%, Fire Walls (DEF 80 to 95, MDEF 80 to 65). Beelzebub's fly swarm refills, and he throws players out with Expulsion. Nidhoggur's Shadow speeds up each minute and sheds into Nidhoggur's True Shadow at 25%.
- The Eddga and Moonlight Flower in unowned castles keep their old fight style, on the new Tier I stats.
Three MVPs return, and two dungeons open
- Kublin (Tier II) is back on Orc Dungeon floor 2.
- Boitata (Tier III) rules the newly opened Brasilis Dungeon.
- Nidhoggur's Shadow (Tier IV) waits on the newly opened Nidhoggur's Nest floor 2.
- Reach both new dungeons from the Warper (Dungeons menu). The Warper also gains Orc Dungeon Level 2.
MVP tokens and the MVP Token Exchange
There are now 50 MVP tokens, one for each MVP and World Boss (Eddga Token, Randgris Token and so on). Each is a coin in its boss's colour, with a rim that shows the tier: deep bronze for Tier I, bronze for Tier II, gold for Tier III, pale gold for Tier IV and silver for World Bosses.
- Earning them: every MVP Ladder credit gives 1 token of that MVP (2 for a Wanted MVP). A full bag gets it by mail.
- Trading them: tokens are tradeable. An NPC shop buys them for 1z, so their worth is in trading and the Exchange.
- The Exchange: Halvard, a relic broker who honours the legends you slay and never haggles, runs the MVP Token Exchange in the Mall (ra_temsky 83, 102), beside the MvP Ladder.
- A boss's own card: a boss's own tokens buy its card: 60 / 45 / 30 / 20 tokens for Tier I / II / III / IV. The card is tradeable.
- The shared shop: any token pays at its tier value (Tier I = 1, Tier II = 2, Tier III = 4, Tier IV = 8, World Boss = 3). Stat foods cost 4, 80 costumes sold nowhere else cost 60 (rare ones 120, account-bound), six titles cost 30, and Blacksmith's Blessing costs 6 (limits below).
- Family auras: 11 cosmetic, account-bound auras, 90 token value each, paid in that family's boss tokens.
The new MVP Ladder
- Everyone who helped earns credit. Deal 5%+ of the damage in 3+ hits (the last within 60 s of the kill), or cast support nearby as a party member, and you earn the boss's full tier points: I 15, II 30, III 50, IV 90. Before, the winner got 10 points, split across the party.
- Who earns nothing: characters on
@autoattack, idle for 2 minutes, dead or off the map, or who died 5 times to the boss. Only one character per computer earns from a kill. - Once a day per boss: each MVP pays you ladder credit once a day per account and once per computer, reset at midnight server time. If you are locked out, your party still earns.
- Wanted MVPs: every Friday at 00:00 the three least-hunted MVPs of the week become Wanted. They pay double ladder points and 2 tokens per credit, and are announced in game and on Discord and marked in
@mvp. - Two brackets: Rising (base level under 200) and Veteran (200+). Each month the top 3 of each bracket win an account-bound title and costume: Veteran [Czar] [Duke] [Earl], Rising [Star] [Nova] [Dawn]. These replace the old 500/300/150 bonus points.
- Lifetime milestones: lifetime ladder points earn titles at 250 [Prey], 1,000 [Reap], 3,000 [Bane], 7,500 [Saga] and 15,000 [Peak]. 3,000 adds [C] Beelzebub Crown, 7,500 adds the Legend Hunter Aura, and 15,000 adds [C] Dark Lord Mask and the new Mythbreaker Aura.
- Conqueror auras: earn credit on every boss of a tier, or every World Boss, for one of five cosmetic auras.
- The old top-10 reward boxes are gone. They were switched off, nobody held one, and their tooltips promised coins they never gave.
@mvp: every boss, from anywhere
@mvpopens Scout Varga's menu from anywhere. Pick a group (Tier I-IV, World Bosses, Wanted this week or Mini-bosses), each showing how many bosses are up.- Each boss shows a green [Alive] or a red [Dead 12m], and several spawns on one map share a row ([2x]). Pick one to see its respawn, its card (click to read it) and its token price.
- Warp to its dungeon or field entrance for 2,000z. Bosses with no entrance (the guild dungeon bosses, Nidhoggur's Shadow, Abyss Arthur) send you to a random spot on their map; the guild dungeons are guild war ground. Mini-bosses warp to their listed entrance.
- The MvP Ladder's MVP status shows the same page.
World Bosses replace Boss Hour
Every two hours one of 8 World Bosses rises on x_prt: Magma Dragon, Mizuchi Dragon, Lauma, Jinmenju, Druanita, Nariphon, Varbun and Nalam. Use @worldboss to join (@bosshour still works).
- Size: level 120, 25M HP plus 10M per extra computer fighting, up to 215M. No hit over 60,000, a cast bar on its big hits, and no petrify or freeze.
- Each has a twist: the Magma Dragon's ground erupts under anyone who stays put after the warning. The Mizuchi Dragon's Tide pulls far players back. Lauma curses everyone at 50%. Jinmenju's faces heal it, and so do Druanita's Healing Blossoms. Nariphon's seedlings heal her if left alive. Varbun grows stronger as he breaks, and Nalam burns hotter every 5 minutes.
- Rewards: deal 2% of the damage in 3 hits and you earn 1 token of that boss, up to 3 a day. Each paid contributor also rolls the boss's own table, every line on its own: its consumable 50%, a World Heartstone 10%, its level-150 equipment 1.5% (with random options), its card 1% and its costume 0.5%. Free a bag slot first: gear that arrives by mail carries no random options.
- World Boss cards can also be bought from Halvard for 10 of that boss's tokens + 20 World Heartstones. All World Boss loot is tradeable and sells to NPCs for 1z.
- What's gone: World Bosses no longer pay Rookie Badges, and a boss that escapes pays nothing.
The Unholy Path, rebuilt for teams of 255s
The demon gates are closed. The Unholy Path is now end-game content for a team of level 255s. Take the Unholy Path warper in Izlude (@go 5) for 50,000z, then walk the maze.
- The Corruption meter: killing Corrupted monsters on the path fills a 150-kill meter. Each kill shows the count to everyone on the path, and the whole server hears it at 50%, 75% and 90%.
- The Breach: at 150, a demon breaches the path itself: Shax, Raum, Paimon, Apollyon or Balam, in turn. It shows on everyone's minimap, is announced server-wide, and has 90M HP.
- The hide: its demonic hide is thickest against few fighters. Bring three or more players for full damage.
- No hanging back: anyone fighting from more than 6 cells away is struck by a Demonic Lance (20% of max HP every 12 seconds).
- Damage and timer: it hits for about 22,000-36,000 and withdraws after 20 minutes (the meter then restarts at half).
- Rules on the path: no warping in, no Fly Wings or
@jump, and Auto Attack is off.@gotakes you out at any time. - Rewards: everyone who deals 1% of its HP gets 3 tradeable demon Hearts by mail. The top damage dealer gets 2 more plus the demon's fragment, and every fighter rolls 1% for its new card.
- Forging at the Forsaken Mystic: Hearts forge each demon's piece (Shax garment, Raum shoes, Paimon accessory, Apollyon armor, Balam shield) at ranks I to V for 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 Hearts. Each rank hands in the one below, keeps its refine and cards, and rolls new random options.
- Pact rewards: a same-rank set bonus, Unholy Cards at Pact rank 3, a title at rank 5, and an aura for all five Pacts at rank 5. Every demon card and Unholy Card has its own illustration.
- Old Seals: your old Seals keep their trades at the Mystic.
- Gone from the path: Hati (Garm) and Monkey Fist no longer spawn on the Unholy Path.
Syri's Elixors, rebuilt
Syri in Prontera (164, 161) brews all 51 Elixors now, each from 3 Essences of its school + 25,000z, in batches of 1, 5 or 10, with a free Preview.
- Seven new Essences drop at 2% a kill and are tradeable: Ember Essence (Grand Peco, Peco Peco), Frost Essence (Siroma, Alligator), Verdant Essence (Mantis, Muscipular), Radiant Essence (Fake Angel, Hunter Fly), Heart Essence (Poring, Wild Rose), Shadow Essence (Dokebi, Deviruchi) and Arcane Essence (Baba Yaga, Mavka).
- Every Elixor has a clearer name for what it does and a flask coloured by its school. Elixors you already hold keep working under their new names. Cherry Blossom now drifts sakura petals and Smoke Bomb puffs real smoke; both used to show nothing.
- The old recipes (Ice Scale, Red Jewel, Yellow Jewel) are gone; any you hold are yours to keep.
A smoother road for new players
- Starter Boots: finishing Captain Carocc's training now also gives a pair of Starter Boots (+15% movement speed, Max HP/SP +10%, SP Recovery +15%), once per account and bound to it. The island's "Set Preview" mannequins are now Training Dummies.
- A shorter welcome: new players get a two-page welcome (was four, with a dead wiki link) that opens a moment after you arrive and links our new Getting Started wiki page. A new account's first login ends with "5 commands to know":
@autoloot,@go,@whereis,@mobinfoand@newb. - A shorter Sailor: the Sailor's talk is now short (was eight pages). It names the Adventurer's Hub, the Rookie Mentor, the real channels (#main, #support) and the party bonus (+30% EXP per extra member with Even Share). It also lists leveling spots by level that no longer send level 1s to Hill Winds.
@helpleveling spots:@helpnow lists Mi Gao Island (Level 1-60) and Payon Cave (Level 30-90).- Finding the Rookie Mentor: Captain Carocc sends you to the Rookie Mentor in the Adventurer's Hub. Until you pass Rookie Trials II, your login and
@newbremind you the Mentor has your next gear. Trials V names the Job Master in Prontera (161, 192). - Rookie Trials II passes when you accept a Weekly Bounty (was: clear one); the board points you back to the Rookie Mentor. Clearing a bounty still pays 10,000 zeny and the leveling pack.
- Party up: the Rookie Mentor and the Weekly Bounty Board now tell you to party up. Party members nearby share bounty kills, and each extra member adds 30% EXP. Turn in Rookie Trials III while in a party of 2 or more online members and you also get one Battle Manual (bound to your character, once).
- New Rookie Trials VII and VIII: VII (be reborn) pays [C] Angel Marcher Hat and [C] Leticia Wing. VIII (take a transcendent 2nd job) pays [C] Hairband Of Asmodeus and [C] Phigasia Scarf. Together they make the account-bound Rookie Wardrobe.
- New titles: [60] at base level 60, [Path] for your first job and [Rise] for a transcendent 2nd job. Claim them in the Achievements window, then wear them from ALT+Q, Title tab.
- Auto Attack warning: below base level 99, starting Auto Attack on a map whose monsters average 30 or more levels above you now shows a yellow warning ("monsters here average Lv X, Y above you"). It still starts; nothing is refused.
Rookie Fellowship
Party up with a player whose account is in its first week, and everyone nearby (within 14 cells) gets +20% monster EXP, as long as the group has a rookie and a veteran on different computers and nobody is on @autoattack or idle.
- Mentor points: veterans earn 1 Mentor point for each base level a rookie gains with them, up to 10 points per rookie.
- Mentor rewards: the [Guru] title at 10 points and the [C] Wizard Master costume at 30.
Guild Finder
- Where to find it: the new Guild Finder stands in the Adventurer's Hub, and you can also open it with
@guildsor "Find a guild" on every guild flag. It lists every guild whose members played yesterday, rookie-friendly guilds first. - Rookie-friendly guilds: guild leaders can mark their guild rookie-friendly (once a week).
- Rookie Trial VI: join a guild and claim the [Crew] title at the Guild Finder.
- Guild news on #main: yesterday's most active guilds at 06:00 and 13:00 UTC, a guild turning rookie-friendly, a rookie joining a guild, and a reminder every 3 hours.
Welcome back
Log in after 7+ days away and you get a what's-new summary plus 3 Battle Manuals (+50% EXP for 30 minutes each, bound to your account), once per 30 days per account and per computer.
Daily Login: November calendar
From October 30 to November 30:
- Exclusive costumes: [C] Friendly White Fox Scarf on day 1, [C] Noel Scarf on day 10 and [C] Holiday Bells on day 20.
- More cards: Daily Login Cards replace the Red Booster, the Small Mana Potion and the second bundle, so a full calendar now gives 235 cards (was 180).
- VIP sooner: VIP comes earlier, on day 4.
- Tempus (Prontera) adds four costumes at 100 cards each: [C] Moonlight Wings, [C] Heart Wings, [C] Mini Angeling and [C] Happy Cat.
- Everyone starts again at day 1, and your saved cards still work.
Gear, drops and prices
- 17 MVP cards are back: Hati (Garm) Card (25% chance to Freeze a melee attacker), Turtle General Card (ATK +10%, Magnum Break autocast), Gopinich Card (SP +5 per normal attack, SP cost +25%), Drake, Dark Lord, Amon Ra (All Stats +1, Kyrie Eleison on a melee hit), Tao Gunka (Max HP +100%, no effect in castles), Egnigem Cenia (Max HP/SP +15%, 500 HP / 50 SP every 10 s), Lord of Death, Vesper, RSX-0806 (VIT +5), Lady Tanee, Atroce, Randgris, Gloom Under Night, Ktullanux and Ifrit. Each drops at the flat 1% and can also be bought with that boss's tokens.
- New MVP cards: Boitata Card (+40% physical damage against Brute and Insect monsters and Wind and Earth targets). Nidhoggur's Shadow Card (INT +5, and a High Wizard casts 20% faster; this works in WoE castles too). A new Kublin Card (shoes: AGI +3, FLEE +10, and a 5% chance when hit to cast Increase AGI Lv 10 on yourself; it works in PvP and WoE too). Abyss Arthur Card (garment: physical and magic damage +15% against Large monsters only, never against players, mounted ones included).
- Vesper Card: DEX +5 (was +2) and ignores 50% of Boss MDEF (was 30%).
- Dracula Card: 10% chance to drain 10% of damage as SP (was 5%), plus a new 5% chance to drain 5% as HP.
- Lady Tanee Card (reworked): Max SP +50%, Max HP -10% (was -40%), SP cost -10%. The banana bonuses are gone.
- Ifrit Card now scales with job level: ATK +1% per 10 job levels, CRIT and HIT +1 per 5 (ATK +7%, CRIT +14, HIT +14 at job 70; ATK +12%, CRIT +24, HIT +24 at job 120). It was ATK/CRIT/HIT +7 flat.
- Unchanged: the Gloom Under Night and Beelzebub cards.
- Baby Shark Bag [1] from Ollie's coin exchange now rolls random options like other quest and shop gear (it never rolled before). Hoods, bags, dolls and snacks are unchanged.
- New tradeable materials: demon Hearts (Unholy Path), World Heartstones (World Bosses) and seven Essences (Syri).
Classes and skills
The Priest line (Acolyte, Priest, High Priest) is reworked
- Holy Light grows with base level: 275% MATK at level 50 and 890% at level 255 (was a flat 125%). Its base cast time is 1 s (was 2 s), so 0.75 s at our 75% cast rate.
- Holy Light takes your weapon element: use a Fire, Water, Earth or Wind Elemental Converter (or another weapon-element item, such as Cursed Water) and Holy Light deals that element instead of Holy, against monsters and players alike. A Sage's Endow doesn't change it.
- Magnus Exorcismus now hits every monster. Undead and Demon monsters take 150% from it (was 130%), and it still never hits ordinary players.
- Battle Priest: Mace Mastery adds +3% damage per level, and its Holy Strike adds holy damage to every mace normal attack equal to 2% of your average MATK per level (20% at level 10). Demon Bane adds +2% per level against Undead and Demon monsters, on both weapon hits and spells.
- Heal restores an extra 1% of the target's max HP per level (10% at Heal 10). Sanctuary levels 7-10 restore an extra 0.5% max HP per level each tick (5% at level 10). Both bonuses apply to players only.
- Assumptio can now be cast in castles during War of Emperium.
Champion and Monk: Asura Strike hits for its full formula
Asura Strike now uses its full formula against monsters and players, so it hits several times harder everywhere, including WoE and the PvP arena: ATK x (900% + 10% per SP) + 250 + 150 per level, with no cap. Before, it dealt an eighth of that against anything not Ghost, capped at 60,000%. At 1,000 SP that is 10,900% ATK, was 1,362%. The 1.5 s cast is your window to interrupt it. Finger Offensive deals 60% more to monsters and bosses (was +20% to monsters, +0% to bosses); its damage against players is unchanged.
Stalker and Rogue: Back Stab deals its full damage
Back Stab from behind with a dagger or sword now deals its full 450-900% ATK by level (900% at Lv 10). It was hitting for one normal attack (100%) at every level. Bow Back Stab is unchanged at 220-400%.
Lord Knight and Knight: Spiral Pierce and Bowling Bash
Spiral Pierce and Bowling Bash now hit bosses 30% harder (was +0%, the same +30% ordinary monsters already got). Against players, Spiral Pierce deals +25% (was -10%) and Bowling Bash +15% (was +0%). Their tooltips now show the real cast times and delays.
Whitesmith line (Merchant, Blacksmith, Whitesmith): damage grows with base level
- Cart Revolution: +2% per base level (+510% at level 255).
- Cart Termination: +4% per base level (+1,020% at level 255).
- Mammonite: +2% per base level (1,110% at level 255, was 600%).
- Weaponry Research also adds +2% damage per level with an axe or mace (+20% at level 10).
- The zeny costs of Mammonite and Cart Termination are unchanged.
Star Gladiator and Taekwon: kicks hit monsters for their full listed damage
- Tornado Kick and Heel Drop: 300% (was 75%; Taekwon 264%, was 66%).
- Roundhouse and Counter Kick at Lv 7: 399% (was 300%; Taekwon 353%, was 266%).
- Damage against players is unchanged.
- Star Gladiator base SP now grows from 500 at level 99 to 1,000 at 255 (it stayed at 500).
- The Kick, Anger and Warmth tooltips now show the real numbers.
Gunslinger: transcendent-class Max HP from level 100
- Max HP bonus: it ramps from +0% at 100 to +25% at 150 and stays +25% to 255. Base HP at 255 is 21,238 (was 16,990), about 48,700 Max HP at 53 VIT, up from 39,000. Levels 1-99 are unchanged.
- Full Buster's tooltip now tells the truth: it needs 1 bullet equipped and uses none, with about a 0.2 s after-cast delay (it claimed 2-10 bullets and 1.2-3.0 s). No damage change.
High Wizard: Magic Crasher and bolt tooltips
- Magic Crasher adds 20% hit chance on top of the normal chance, so High Wizards land it more often on high-Flee players.
- Magic Crasher's new cap: one Magic Crasher now deals at most 70,000 damage to a player in castles, the PvP arena and Battlegrounds (it had no cap). Monsters are unaffected.
- Bolt tooltips: Cold, Fire and Lightning Bolt show the real timing: 0.21 s after-cast at every level (was listed as 1.0-2.8 s), a 0.2 s cooldown, and cast times at our 75% rate (Bolt Lv 10: 5.25 s, was listed as 7.0).
- Jupitel Thunder's tooltip: 0.22 s after-cast and a 0.23 s cooldown.
All classes
- The skill window now shows an unlearned skill's level 1 SP cost and range (it showed junk values, often 0).
Balance changes
We know some of these hurt, so here is the thinking. The MVP refresh moves MVP rewards from raw drops and a few always-farmed bosses toward tokens, every hunter earning credit, and bosses that need a group. That keeps zeny and rare items worth chasing, and spreads the hunt across all 50 bosses instead of two. Everything you already own stays yours unless a line below says otherwise.
- MVP drops 10x to 5x: an MVP's own drop list and its prizes now roll at 5x (prizes at 20% or more still always drop). Yggdrasil Berries and Old Boxes from MVPs drop about half as often. Cards, mini-bosses and ordinary monsters are unchanged, so the 1-59 climb loses nothing.
- Monkey Fist and Bloody Knight Champion leave the ladder. They are now mini-bosses: no MVP reward, MVP EXP or MVP Ladder points, and still no monster zeny. Their HP, drops and +5 all stats cards are unchanged. The two Bloody Knight Champions on nif_fild01 now respawn in 20-30 minutes (was instant). These two bosses were carrying most of the ladder. The ladder is meant to reward hunting every boss, and the new Wanted MVPs push it that way.
- Blacksmith's Blessing is no longer sold for 20 MVP Ladder points. It now costs 6 token value at the MVP Token Exchange, at most 5 a week per account and per computer (the week starts Friday 00:00 UTC). Blessings you already hold are kept. It is the strongest refine aid in the game, and an unlimited supply was flattening the value of every +10.
- Rookie Badges are out of Boss Hour. World Bosses no longer pay Rookie Badges, and an escape pays nothing. They pay a World Boss token instead.
- MVP Soul is retired. It had no remaining use since its exchanges were closed, so it no longer drops (it was a 1% drop on 62 MVPs and bosses), and the remaining copies are removed with this update. Holders get a mail explaining it. There is no compensation, because the item could no longer be spent on anything.
- Free warps no longer drop you next to MVPs. The
@helpLeveling stops for Ice Dungeon 3, Dimik & Venatu, Moscovia Dungeon 3, Odin Temple 3 and Prontera Maze 3 now land at the dungeon entrance (Ice Dungeon 1, Juperos' gate, Moscovia Dungeon 1, Odin Temple 1, Labyrinth 1). Guild Dungeons from the Warper now drops you somewhere random on the floor. Abyss Lake 3 is now Detardeurus' boss floor and leaves the@helpLeveling list. - Guild flags no longer warp anyone inside a castle. Every castle flag, in town and on the guild field, now offers "Go to the castle gate" to anyone, guild or not. It takes you to the guild field beside that castle's entrance, before, during and after WoE, for all 30 castles. Town flags in Prontera, Payon, Geffen, Aldebaran, Juno and Rachel offer it too. Before, the ruling guild's flags warped members straight into the keep, during WoE too, and the Schwarzwald and Arunafeltz field flags returned members to their stronghold. Now attackers and defenders enter by the same gate, which keeps castles contestable.
- Card trims for WoE and PvP: Tao Gunka, Randgris and Detardeurus Cards now do nothing inside WoE castles; they work everywhere else as before, and their tooltips say so. Fallen Bishop Card no longer adds 20% magic damage against players; its other bonuses are unchanged.
- Doppelganger Card gives ASPD +10% (its official value). It was jumping the wearer straight to the 195 ASPD cap.
Walk speed, every step
The walk speed now has a step for each type of speed. The best item or potion counts (gear and potions don't stack with each other), and the types add up. Nobody moves faster than 90 ms a cell. Monsters are unchanged.
- Base walk: 150 ms a cell (was 170).
- Rental mount: +10%, so 127 to 135 ms. It was +25%, and the 3M-a-week rental keeps its price. Riders are the ones this costs, and we'd rather say so plainly.
- Knight/Crusader Peco: +15% (127 ms, unchanged).
- Lord Knight/Paladin Peco: +20% (127 to 120 ms).
- Sleipnir, Greaves of Wisdom and the other +25% speed gear: +20% (147 to 120 ms).
- BR Shoes, Starter Boots and the Love Ring + Ring of Hatred: +15% (127 ms), so Sleipnir stays the best shoe.
- Box of Thunder and the other long potions: +15% (127 ms).
- Speed Potion: +40% for 5 s (127 to 90 ms).
- Increase AGI and Wind Walk Lv 10: +10% (Increase AGI 147 to 135 ms).
- Combined: Sleipnir + Increase AGI 105 ms; rental + Sleipnir 105; Peco + Sleipnir 97 (Knight) or 90 (Lord Knight).
- Legendary speed roll: the Legendary random option speed roll is now 15-20% (was 15-25%).
- Tooltips: speed item tooltips now say what they give.
Fixes and small changes
- Reward boxes that give several items no longer open into a full or too-heavy bag and lose part of their contents. The box stays and tells you how many slots to free, or that you're carrying too much.
- MVP news gets its own channel: MVP kills, rare MVP drops and World Boss calls now go to their own in-game #mvp channel and the new #mvp-feed channel on our Discord, instead of #livefeed. Mute the livefeed and keep MVP news, or the other way round, with
@settings, MVP Announcements. @mvpfixes:@mvpno longer lists bosses twice after a server script reload, and World Bosses say "up now" only while one is actually up.- Aegis of Death I-V now shows on your character when worn; before, the shield was invisible. The [BR] Shield shows again too.
- Veil Champion and Unholy Pact auras now show their ground ring.
- Baby Shark tooltips now say the Family set and the Baby Shark Bag [1] refine bonus share one +10% EXP and drop cap. The bonus itself is unchanged; the old tooltips just read like +20%.
- Safety Ring's tooltip no longer lists its DEF twice. It gives DEF +3 and MDEF +3, as before (the text read like DEF +6).
- The mailbox opens faster, and deleting mail no longer slows other players' mailboxes.
- Seven unused starter items that nobody held were removed.
Corrections
- An exploit with the old demon-gate Seals was fixed. The Seals gained through it are removed with this update. Seals your own character earned, and everything already made with any Seal, are kept. Anyone affected has a mail.
- MVP Soul copies are removed, as above. Every holder has a mail explaining why.
