Card hunting on XileRO has felt more like card praying - and a chunk of our "dangerous" monsters turned out to be secretly broken rather than intentionally tough. Here's what changed.
Card Drop Rate: 0.10% → 1%
Every card on the server now drops 10x more often - regular monsters and MVPs alike, no exceptions. Still rare, still a real hunt, but no longer a coin flip you lose 999 times out of 1000.
9 Monsters Were Secretly Overtuned
We pulled combat data to see which monsters were actually killing people the most, then compared each one against other monsters of a similar level. A few stood out hard - ordinary monsters dropping completely normal loot, but carrying health and damage numbers that belonged on a boss.
- Stapo (level 23) - 523,666 HP → 2,200 HP. This one had more health than monsters 3-4x its level.
- Gazeti (level 55) - 512,300 HP → 10,000 HP
- Vanberk (level 59) - 259,988 HP → 9,000 HP
- Wootan Shooter (level 39) - 60,828 HP → 6,000 HP (it was running the exact same stats as Wootan Fighter, a level 85 monster - a copy-paste that never got corrected)
- Zombie Prisoner (level 53) - 61,280 HP → 8,500 HP
- Siroma (level 42) - 155,645 HP → 7,500 HP
- Dryad (level 50) - 100,828 HP → 9,000 HP
- Ancient Mimic (level 60) - 88,080 HP → 12,000 HP
- Novus (level 42) - 15,430 HP → 6,500 HP
Attack was brought down right alongside HP on each of these - some were hitting for 2-3x what anything else their level could dish out.
Global Monster Health, Trimmed Too
Separately, we looked at how long it was taking players to level past 90 - and it was climbing hard, almost 8x slower per level than earlier in the game. That's a sign monster health in general was sitting too high, not just a handful of monsters.
- Regular monster HP: 80% → 65% of listed health
- MVP HP: 100% → 85% of listed health
What We Left Alone
Not every tough monster is a bug. Monkey Fist, Vesper, Pharaoh, and Amon Ra are meant to hit like trucks - that's intentional MVP design, not an oversight. Anubis is just a classic, legitimately tough field monster the way it's always been. We only touched the ones where the numbers genuinely didn't make sense for what they were.
Happy Gaming everyone!
